H.D. & C. Securities Limited has been in operation since the 1st August, 1990.
How do I invest?
To invest with us, simply complete the Investment Application Form accompanying this Prospectus and, together with your cheque, either mail it to us or lodge it at the Company's registered office.
Who can apply to invest?
Investments can be opened in single or joint names, or in the names of partnerships, superannuation funds, trusts, deceased estates, businesses, companies and other incorporated/unincorporated bodies. Accounts for trusts and superannuation funds should be opened in the name(s) of the trustee(s).
Is there a mimimum opening balance?
We are happy to accept a low initial investment of $500.00 during the currency of this Prospectus for 'Fixed Term' investments. 'At Call' investments require a minimum investment of $1.00.
Are there any fees or charges?
There are no establishment charges, no ongoing fees and no exit fees which apply to any investment pursuant to this Prospectus. Government taxes are passed on to investors.
Is there a choice of terms available?
You are able to invest with us on an 'At Call' basis or for 'Fixed Terms' ranging from ninety days to two years.
How is interest paid?
Interest on 'At Call' investments must be credited to the 'At Call' investment. Interest on 'Fixed Term' investments may be added to the 'Fixed Term" investment, credited to an 'At Call' investment with H.D. & C. Securities Limited, sent by cheque or transferred directly to another financial institution.
How is interest calculated?
Interest is calculated on the investment balance on a daily basis from the date of receipt of your application monies, except if received after 4.00 pm in which event it will be calculated from the next business day that is not a Saturday or Sunday or proclaimed bank holiday in the State of Victoria.
When is interest payable?
Interest is payable on 'At Call' investments on the last days of March and September in each year. Interest on 'Fixed Term' investments is payable at maturity, except for twelve and twenty-four month investments which pay interest quarterly in arrears from the date of investment.
Can I add to an existing investment?
Additions to an existing 'Fixed Term' investment for the remaining period of that investment may be accepted, at our discretion. If accepted the interest rate for the additional investment will be the same as the current interest rate for the existing 'Fixed Term' investment. Your subsequent investment can be for any amount. You may add to 'At Call' investments at any time.
Is there a limit when adding to an investment?
No. If accepted, any amounts may be added to the principal balance of your investment.
Can I have monies invested for my children?
Yes. Monies may be invested in the name of a child or grandchild. Please contact the Company's registered office for information on how to do this.
What do you do with the funds I invest?
H.D. & C. Securities Limited predominantly lends against registered first mortgage securities over titles to real estate in Australia with the balance of the funds invested in Australian banks and other investments as permitted by the Trust Deed.
Is repayment of my investment secured?
Repayment of all monies that have been or may be invested with the Company is secured by a charge over the whole of the assets and undertaking of the Company in favour of Sandhurst Trustees Limited as trustee for the holders of investment notes.
What happens when my 'Fixed Term' investment reaches its maturity?
Approximately one to two weeks before the investment falls due we will notify you in writing of the upcoming maturity of your investment and offer you the oppurtunity to reinvest with us for a further term.
How will I know you have accepted my investment?
As soon as reasonably practicable and, in any event, within two months of receipt of application monies we will forward to you a 'Certificate of Investment Note Stock' for 'Fixed Term' investments and 'At Call' investors will receive an investment receipt or, if required, a withdrawal/investment booklet containing an investment receipt. If accepted by the Company, investors adding to an existing 'Fixed Term' investment will be issued with an investment receipt as confirmation.
